In recent weeks it has become clear to me that Lisa Scheller, a candidate for Congress in Pennsylvania’s 7th District, is no friend to Carbon County.

Scheller is the CEO of Silberline Manufacturing which had a factory in Lansford. This factory is now closed and the jobs that were once held by many residents of Carbon County have been shipped overseas, some of them to China.

Scheller likes to claim that her success as a business woman qualifies her to represent us in Washington. But this success has been achieved at the expense of the hard working people of Carbon County. She likes to claim that she is a job creator. The reality is her grandparents created those jobs; she sent them overseas.

As a business woman, her actions have always been in her own self interest. How can we expect her to look after our interests in Washington?
