Kevin M. Smith, 51, of Slatington, was cited after a one-vehicle crash at 12:24 a.m. Sept. 3 on the Coplay Creek Road in North Whitehall Township. State police at the Bethlehem barracks said he fled the scene before police arrived.

Police said he was driving a Ford F250 northbound on a right curve and hit a guiderail with its front right side. The truck entered the southbound lane before exiting the roadway and striking a boulder. Police said the vehicle had front-end damage.

Police said Smith was not injured.
