A Tamaqua driver is charged with driving under the influence after a crash on Aug. 3 along Interstate 78 in Upper Macungie Township, Lehigh County, state police said.

David A. Krause, 55, of Tamaqua, was driving a Ford Escape when his vehicle ran into the rear of a Honda CRV being driven by Paul Albertson, 63, of Lexington, South Carolina, police said.

Krause was taken into custody and taken to the Lehigh Valley Hospital, Cedar Crest, police said. Albertson and his passenger, Sharon A. Ortion, 61, also of Lexington, were not injured. The Ford had to be towed.
