A Luzerne County man is facing burglary and related charges for an Aug. 16 break-in of a Carbon County residence, according to state police at Lehighton.
Police said several items, including a credit card were taken from home in the 100 block of East Snyder Ave., Lansford. Police said the credit card was then used by the suspect at the Friendly Food Mart in the borough and he allegedly made an attempt to use it at the Rite Aid pharmacy in the borough.
Troopers identified the man as Jesse Roth, 30, of Wilkes-Barre. The victim is a 44-year-old woman. The estimated loss to the victim is $232. Roth has been charged with burglary, criminal trespass, both felonies; and misdemeanor counts of theft, and three counts of access device violations concerning the credit card. Roth was arraigned before a district judge and was unable to post $5,000 bail. He was committed to the county prison in Nesquehoning.
