A Schuylkill County woman is facing driving under the influence charges following a one-vehicle crash at 1:26 p.m. on July 12 along Route 209 in New Philadelphia borough.
State police at Frackville said Carol A. Pukas, 34, of Minersville, was driving a 2010 Dodge Nitro southbound when she fell asleep at the wheel. The vehicle crossed over the oncoming lane, went onto the left shoulder and collided into the front of an unoccupied structure, police said.
Pukas, who was not injured, was found to be under the influence of a controlled substance and placed under arrest for DUI, police said. The vehicle had to be towed.
