Crashes investigated

State police at Fern Ridge reported the following crashes:

• A two-vehicle crash was reported at 3:01 p.m. on Aug. 12 at the intersection of Penn Forest Trail and Stony Mountain Road in Penn Forest Township, Carbon County. Troopers said Irene L. Rodgers, 27, of Lansdale, Montgomery County, driving a 2016 Toyota Rav4, was traveling in front of a 2002 Mercury Sable driven by a 17-year-old man from Albrightsville.

Rodgers attempted to make an illegal U-turn at the intersection with Stony Mountain Road, police said. The teen was unable to stop and hit the Toyota with his Mercury.

Troopers said Rodgers was taken by Lehighton ambulance to St. Luke’s Carbon Campus, Franklin Township, for treatment of a minor injury. The teen was not injured. Both vehicles had to be towed.

Rodgers was cited for limitations on turning around.

• A one-vehicle crash was reported at 4:12 p.m. on Aug. 4 along Cascade Drive in Chestnuthill Township, Monroe County. Police said Travis H. Eilber, 35, of Effort, was driving a 2013 Dodge Ram 3500 truck southbound when he had a medical episode and drove off the road. The truck hit a boulder, a rock wall/ditch, and then came to a stop 25 feet off the road in a yard at 340 Cascade Drive.

Eilber had minor injuries and was taken to a hospital by West End ambulance. The vehicle had minor damages and was driven from the scene.

• A one-vehicle crash was reported a 8:48 a.m. on July 30 along Route 715, in Jackson Township, Monroe County.

Troopers said Brian Mattson, 47, of Saylorsburg, was driving a 2018 Subaru Forester when a deer entered the road in front of him. He attempted to avoid the animal by serving his vehicle, causing caused it to overturn.

Mattson was not injured.
