The 2022 golf season opened on a successful note for four area teams on Thursday as Palmerton, Marian, Tamaqua and Weatherly all posted wins.

Pen Argyl-Palmerton

Two-time defending District 11 champion Palmerton cruised to a 438-513 Colonial League victory over Pen Argyl.

The Bombers’ Connor Reinhard shot a four-over-par 76 to grab medalist honors. Teammate Nate Steinmetz followed right behind with an 81.

Joey DosSantos recorded a Green Knights’ best 94.
