Palmerton Borough Council took the following action on Thursday:

• Accepted the resignation of Gerard Alfano from the Palmerton Municipal Fire Department.

• Approved a quote for sewer main sectional repairs and roads restoration project from Entech in the amount of $26,200. The areas affected are Delaware Avenue, Edgemont Avenue and Fireline Road.

• Adopted an ordinance amending vehicles and traffic, stop intersection, for a stop sign at the intersection at Third Street and Lafayette Avenue heading north.

• First reading of a resolution establishing fees for stormwater management plans.

• First reading of an ordinance concerning alarms.

• Approved the resignation of borough tax collector Lisa Nemeth, effective Dec. 31. Anyone interested in applying for the position may send an application to the borough office by Aug. 15.
