Jasper J. Edwards, 43, of Palmerton, escaped injuries in a crash at 3:05 p.m. June 19 on the Little Gap Road in Lower Towamensing Township.

State police at the Lehighton barracks said he was driving a 2006 Hummer westbound when he swerved the vehicle in order to avoid striking an animal that entered its path. The vehicle went off the roadway into a ditch and rolled over on the westbound lane. It was towed from the scene.

Police said Edwards refused a medical transport by Palmerton Community Ambulance Association personnel.
