State police at the Lehighton barracks have released the results of a sobriety checkpoint they conducted recently along Route 209 in Polk Township.

Police said six people were arrested for suspicion of driving under the influence and one person was arrested for drug possession.

Police said several written and verbal warnings were issued, as were citations for Motor Vehicle Code violations.
