The Wilkes-Barre enforcement office of the state police reported on the following area businesses being cited for violations of the state liquor code.
Carbon County
• Ruby’s Saloon, Lehighton, was cited for during the period of July 26, 2020, through May 3, failed to adhere to the conditions of the agreement entered into with the liquor control board placing additional restrictions upon the subject license.
Monroe County
• 1836 Saloon Inc., Marshalls Creek, cited on May 21 and again on June 4, for used or permitted to be used on the inside and/or outside of their licensed premises, a loudspeaker or similar device whereby the sound of music or other entertainment, or the advertisement thereof could be heard beyond the licensee’s property line.
These charges will be brought before an administrative law judge who has the authority to impose penalties ranging from $50 to $1,000 for minor offenses and up to $5,000 for more serious offenses. In addition, the judge can also impose a license suspension or revocation of the license based on the severity of the charge brought.
