Summer fun for everyone in Downtown Lehighton continues this Saturday.

Local business owners and volunteers from the Lehighton Downtown Partnership have organized extra fun on the Second Saturday of each month throughout the summer.

The next Second Saturday promotion will be held this Saturday with a theme of “Follow the Force.”

This Saturday, there will be live music, fresh local produce, themed crafts for the children, photo ops, vendors and more, said Lehighton Main Street Manager Bambi Elsasser.

After enjoying the market, Elsasser said guests are invited to stick around, visit the shops and restaurants and meet different “Follow The Force” themes as they visit the shops in the downtown area.

Elsasser said those who attend are asked to feel free to dress the part in their favorite character garb.

“In the evening there will be a free movie in the Upper Park, thanks to our sponsor Lehigh Valley Hospital – Carbon,” Elsasser said. “The movie is from another galaxy and starts at dusk in the amphitheater.”

Elsasser said refreshments will be available for sale including fresh popped popcorn and drinks.

Additionally, the Lehighton Downtown Farmers Market is held from 9 a.m. to noon at the Lower Park each Saturday.

Second Saturday promotions are hosted every month.

The summer will be rounded out with Second Saturday-themed events on Aug. 13 - Spellbinding Saturday and Sept. 10.
