Several people were injured Wednesday morning in a crash in Tamaqua. The incident occurred about 10:30 a.m. in the 600 block of East Broad street.

Members of the Tamaqua Rescue Squad, American Hose and East End firefighters worked to free the trapped occupants.

The injured were treated at the scene by members of the Tamaqua ambulance and Lehighton paramedics before being transported to a nearby trauma center. Tamaqua fire police maintained traffic control at the scene. Tamaqua police are investigating the incident.
