Schuylkill County commissioners

Schuylkill County commissioners on Wednesday approved the following:

• County Administrator Gary R. Bender, on behalf of the Solicitors Office, a service agreement for administration of self insurance workers’ compensation program between commissioners and InServCo Insurance Services Inc., for three years from July 1, 2022, to June 30, 2025, at a rate of $15,200, $15,650, and $16,120 per year respectively for claim administration.

• An addendum to contract 2013-176 and payment to PCORP insurance programs for property, auto, and liability insurance for the contract, from June 1, 2022, to June 1, 2023, for a total cost of $545,793.

• A brokerage service agreement for insurance placement and risk management administration between the commissioners and McGriff Insurance Services Inc. for one year beginning June 1, 2022, through June 1, 2023, at a rate of $27,290 per year.

• A contract with McClure company, Wilkes-Barre, for labor and materials to install a 4-inch aluminum extension to the generator exhaust stack to prevent diesel fumes from entering the building through the HVAC equipment, at a cost of $5,123.

• A lease with the Pottsville Parking Authority for seven parking spaces at the Capitol Parking Garage for MIS office employees at a rate of $38 per month per space, for monthly total of $266 and a semiannual total of $1,589 from July 1, 2022, to Dec. 31, 2022.

• On behalf of Senior Services, a contract from July 1, 2020, to June 30, 2023, with Matz Culinary Management of Dallas for congregate and in-home meals for $532,982.50. The state Department of Aging has provided a waiver for a one-year contract. A performance bond for $261,991.25 has had been received.

• A contract with 5 Sons Flooring, Schuylkill Haven, for replacement and installation of carpeting in the Offices of Senior Services for $50,648.

• Approval of a contract to the program funded contract with Mid Penn Legal Services of Harrisburg for ombudsman services with the increased contract cap of $8,175 for additional funds from Pennsylvania Department of Aging for CARES and ombudsman volunteers. The revised contract cap will be $118,970 for fiscal year 2021-2022.
