Supervisors present check to Franklin Twp. Fire Co.

The Franklin Township Supervisors presented their annual contribution to the Franklin Township Volunteer Fire Co. at their monthly meeting.

Supervisors Jason Frey, Fred Kemmerer Jr. and Robin Cressley presented a check in the amount of $40,000 to Fire Chief Lynn Diehl.

“It’s really important that, when we need someone at the worst of times, they are there,” Kemmerer said.

“The amount of work that they put together just to try to save someone’s house is incredible. That’s the least we can do. We all support them.”

“People might not understand why we give them the $40,000,” Frey said.

“If we ever had to fund this ourselves, considering all the volunteers and all the work they do, you’d have to triple taxes or more just to cover what they do. The check for $40,000 is a very small amount.”
