The West End Park and Open Space Commission presents two $2,000 Dave Fleetwood memorial scholarships each year to deserving graduates of the Pleasant Valley High School. This year’s recipients James Syracuse of Kunkletown will study mechanical engineering at Penn State University and Dominic Payan will pursue a degree in criminal justice at Virginia Wesleyan University. Fleetwood, a member of the committee, was fatally shot by a gunman at the Ross Township building on Aug. 5, 2013.
