An Easton woman wanted on a bench warrant from the Carbon County Sheriff’s Office waived her charges to court Wednesday.
According to the affidavit of probable cause filed by Deputy Nicole Thalmann of the Carbon County Sheriff’s Office in the case against Nina Hofstetter:
On March 16, the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania and Hofstetter, 41, came to an agreement to serve her sentence on consecutive weekends beginning at 8 p.m. March 18 as ordered by Honorable Judge Roger N. Nanovic.
On May 10, the Sheriff’s Office received a common pleas bench warrant from the Carbon County Clerk of Courts Office indicating that Hofstetter failed to appear to serve her sentence on March 18 on the date ordered and signed by Nanovic.
Hofstetter remains incarcerated in the Carbon County Correctional Facility in lieu of $50,000 monetary bail, and is scheduled for arraignment Aug. 19.
