Nesquehoning Historical Society
The Nesquehoning Historical Society Museum will be open to the public this Saturday from 9 a.m. until noon.
The museum will also host a presentation by Vince Hydro on the Packer Family on June 13 at 6 p.m. with doors opening at 5.
There will be no membership meeting this month.
Museum browsing and presentations are free but donations are always welcome.
If you cannot make it to any of the openings and would like to schedule a private tour, reach out on the society’s Facebook page. A member will be glad to accommodate your request.
The museum is located at 157 W. Railroad St. Updated summer museum hours will be announced shortly.
Panther Valley Senior Center
The menu at the Panther Valley Senior Center for June 6-10 is:
Monday: Broccoli cheese soup, open hot turkey sandwich, mashed potatoes, cookie or barbecue chicken salad
Tuesday: Baked fish, buttered noodles, vegetable blend, rice pudding or chicken pesto sandwich
Wednesday: Swiss steak, scalloped potatoes, beets, orange or turkey Cobb salad
Thursday: Sweet and sour pork, Asian vegetables, pineapple, cookie or deli sandwich
Friday: Crispy chicken, cheesy potatoes, broccoli, peaches or Mediterranean salad
The center has also announced upcoming events through June 17.
Shut the Box on June 6 at 11 a.m.; Bingo on June 7 at 10:45 a.m., Games on June 8 at 10 a.m.; Heritage Hill and Fox Rehab will present a program “Are You Strong Enough” on June 9 at 11 a.m.; Trivia on June 10.
Po-Keno on June 13 at 11 a.m.; Birthday Bingo on June 14 at 10:45 a.m.; Games on June 15 at 10 a.m.; Skeeball Tournament on June 16 at 11 a.m.; Picnic at Eurana Park in Weatherly on June 17 at 9:30 a.m.
New members always welcome.
