Carbon County commissioners
The Carbon County Commissioners approved the following at their meeting:
• An advertisement for Requests for Proposals for mental health developmental services for the Carbon County public defender’s office.
• Continuation of the Carbon County Agency on Aging being the fiscal manager for the LINK Program from July 1 through June 30, 2023.
• Renewal agreement with Julie Rovinski-Mann of Jim Thorpe to continue in the position of the Carbon County LINK coordinator at $25 per hour. The contract will renew annually, but is subject to funding availability.
• The 2022-2023 insurance renewal with the Pennsylvania Counties Risk Pool at a cost of $385,227. This represents an increase of $37,132.
• A proposal from Ralph W. Clay of Jim Thorpe for professional surveying of the D&L Trail with respect to the railroad property. The cost shall not exceed $10,000. The reason is the land was part of the sale of the railroad and is being returned back to the county for the trail operation.
• Authorized Apollo Edison of Spring City to represent Carbon County for consultative services relative to an online electric auction for various Carbon County accounts.
Personnel
• Resignations: Brittany T. Stepp of Palmerton, part-time dispatcher trainee, effective May 19; Samuel J. Hydro of Jim Thorpe, part-time seasonal park maintenance, effective May 19; and Janet A. Zavagansky of Lansford, cleaning person, effective June 13.
• Change of status: Scott R. Pompa of Jim Thorpe, from parking administrator/senior technician to part-time parking/meter technician, effective June 11. Commissioner Rocky Ahner asked for more information on this change of status.
• Hire as recommended by department supervisor: Mark E. Schwarz of Bath, county caseworker I, Children and Youth, effective June 6.

• District attorney resignation: Jillian Berger of Jim Thorpe, legal secretary I, effective June 3.
