Franklin to use CDBG funds to continue water improvements on Red Hill Road

Franklin Township will utilize this year’s Community Development Block Grant funding on Red Hill Road.

Township secretary Brenda Cressley announced on Tuesday that the township is slated to receive $96,138 in CDBG funds this year.

Of that, Cressley noted $78,834 is for the selected project, with the remaining $17,304 for administration.

The township plans to use this year’s CDBG funds to continue with water improvements along Red Hill Road.

Franklin Township has agreed to modify its Community Development Block Grant funds to replace the culvert on Red Hill Road.

Last June, supervisors approved modifications for the CDBG funding years of 2018, 2019 and 2020 regarding the Red Hill Road project.

The board agreed at that time to modify funds from street improvements - Red Hill Road Phase I, Fiscal Year 2018 ($47,724); water/sewer improvements - Red Hill Road Phase II, Fiscal Year 2018 ($13,317); water/sewer improvements - Red Hill Phase II, Fiscal Year 2019 ($76,183); and water improvements - Red Hill Road Phase II, Fiscal Year 2020 ($77,839).

Those funds were modified to street improvements - Red Hill Road Culvert Replacement, 2018, 2019, 2020 ($215,063).

The township used $29,051 from Fiscal Year 2017, and $13,577 from Fiscal Year 2018 in CDBG funds to complete the street improvements in Red Hill Road Phase I.

The township will use funds from Fiscal Year 2018, Fiscal Year 2019 and Fiscal Year 2020 ($215,063) to replace the culvert on Red Hill Road.
