A landmark building in Lehighton has been condemned over safety concerns.
Tyler Galloway, Zoning and Property Maintenance, Barry Isett & Associates, said there was recently a call for smoke and fire at the building at First and Iron streets.
As a result, Galloway said the building was considered a safety concern, though it is not believed to be in danger at this time of collapse.
Galloway said the building is owned by Dynasty Wine & Spirits LLC, which had been using a portion of the building to store wine for wholesale distribution.
He added there is an apartment connected to the building.
The building had served as the Times News Building until the company moved in the early 2000s.
Before that, it was The Classic Theater.
