A Jim Thorpe bank will keep the Schuylkill County Sheriff’s Department rolling along.
At the request of Sheriff Joseph Groody, county commissioners on Wednesday approved the lease of two 2022 Ford police utility vehicles through Mauch Chunk Trust Company.
The total cost is $46,712.44 per vehicle over the five-year lease beginning this month.
In other matters, commissioners approved:
• The hiring of TKO Cleaning Services for $30,444 from May 1, 2022, through April 30, 2023; and for $31,333 from May 1, 2022, through April 30, 2024, to clean the county Human Services building at 410 N. Center St., Pottsville;
• A request to advertise for 2022 CDBG hearings for Butler Township, Mahanoy City, Minersville, Pine Grove Township, Schuylkill Haven, Shenandoah, Tamaqua, Wayne Township, West Penn Township and Schuylkill County;
• A request to purchase acoustic sound panels and fiscal year 2021-2022 for the Office of Senior Services. The purchase is through the Office Service Company COSTARS contract. The cost is $31,887.55 and will be covered by agency funding with no cost to the county general fund;
• A contract addendum for fiscal year 2021-2022 for an overall increase of $376,593 to the program funded contract with Daikon Child Family And Community Ministries of Middletown, Dauphin County, affecting Senior Community Services in-home meals, PA Medi, PA Health And Wellness, Volunteers Serving Seniors, and Apprise Telecenter. The revised contract cap will be $1,628,867.
