Chestnuthill supervisors held a public hearing Tuesday to consider changing the zoning classification of a triangular shaped property, situated between Route 209 and Fairgrounds Road.
Mary Baxter, the owner of the property where the printing businesses and a day care are located, said changing the zoning would make it easier to get a new tenant when a business vacated.
“The way I understand it is that I can only have the same type of business that was there before. So if the printing place goes out, I can only get another printing place in there, or if the day care goes out, I can only have another day care. It is the only reason I am requesting the change itself,” she said.
The zoning was changed from hard to medium low density residential to LIC, light industrial commercial, so it allows her to rent the vacant place much quicker due to the fact she doesn’t have to put the same type of business in the vacated space, according to Chairman Chuck Gould.
During the regular meeting, the supervisors approved the ordinance to make the change.
