Monroe County Commissioners

Monroe County Commissioners acted on the following items last week:

• Approved the Sheriff’s Office Overtime Report for the period ending April 10. Overtime hours for the deputies was 109.50 hours; overtime hours for security was 42.25 hours; and overtime hours for clerks was 58.75 hours.

• The gross payroll of $1,206,678.85 for the week ending April 10 was also approved.

• Monroe County Area on Aging acknowledged the resignation of Jyn-Hann Chang from the RSVP Advisory board. Brooke Langan, Ed.D., was appointed to the Advisory Council, replacing Chang.

• Children & Youth Services executed the following Purchase of Service Agreements for the period of July 1, 2022, through June 30, 2023: Bucks County, $450,000; Children’s Advocacy Center of Monroe County, $35,000.

• Approved the Budget Adjustment Report dated April 14, totaling $19,979.

• Approved a request from Pocono Area Transitional Housing to use Courthouse Square on May 1 for the annual PATH Walk.

• Ratified request to the U.S. Department of Agricultural to extend the Farm to School Grant Agreement through June 30, 2023. The original date was to June 30, 2022.

• Approved the agreement for the sale and purchase of an Agricultural Conservation Easement in Perpetuity on the 34.48-acre farm owned by Dorothy M. Davidson, Susan J. Davidson and Charles E. Hennet in the amount of $189,502.08.

• Approved requests for funding through the 2022 Open Space Development Grant as recommended by the Monroe County Planning Commission Advisory Board:

Each of the following townships received $40,000 grant money: Chestnuthill Township for Big Woods Natural Area Trailhead; Pocono Township, TLC Park Playground Equipment Enhancement Project; Jackson Township, Park Swale and Grading Project.

The following townships received varied amounts of grant money: Hamilton Township, $36,987, Hamilton Park Strawberry Hill Trailhead; Polk Township, $20,104, Polk Township Community Trail Phase 2; Coolbaugh EAC $11,000, Wiley Nature Preserve Trail Project; Middle Smithfield Township, $7,800, Echo Lake Park Trail Resurfacing; Smithfield Township, $2,207, Community Garden Pollinator Enhancement; Hauser Nature Center ADA Trail & Pedestrian Enhancement, Long Pond, $24,000.
