The Easter Bunny bounces into Weissport

The Weissport Event Committee held its second annual Easter Parade on Saturday. The Easter Bunny and friends walked around the streets of Weissport and handed out bags of treats to the children.

Weissport Mayor Paulette Watson led the parade with the borough’s police car, followed by Councilman Tom Ketchledge driving an ATV with a trailer that held all the bags and toys for the children. Brent and Erica Schoenberger joined the parade this year with their 1946 Dodge Pickup. The Easter Bunny walked along side the route with help from assistant Sophia Civitano.

Last year, the borough decided to go with the parade instead of the Easter egg hunt because of COVID-19. The parade was such a hit with residents that they decided to make it an annual event.

The sponsors of the parade were the Weissport Event Committee; High Tech Automotive Machine; AOK Heating, Air Conditioning, & Electrical; and Mario’s Pizza.
