State police at Fern Ridge have charged a New York man with child pornography after sexually explicit content was found on a student’s phone.
At 1:16 p.m. Feb. 17, police were dispatched to Pleasant Valley High School for a report of sexually explicit content on a student’s phone.
The school police officer Robert Miller said he was alerted to the cafeteria for an incident involving a 14-year-old student showing nude images of a man on her cellphone.
Police interviewed her in the presence of her father at the school.
They seized the LG Smartphone. The images were stored in her Snapchat account under the “My Eyes Only” section.
The photographs were of the victim posing in fully nude images and videos.
On March 1, a JNET query was conducted on the suspect’s phone number, and the results returned the number was a subscriber to Verizon and associated with a woman and Nathan Gielskie, 19, of Delancey, New York.
Gielskie faces charges of child pornography; possession of instrument of crime with intent; corruption of minors; and disseminating explicit sexual material to a minor.
He is scheduled to have a preliminary hearing April 29 before District Judge Colleen Mancuso of Brodheadsville.
