Tamaqua Borough employee Steve Naylor works from a bucket truck lift early Wednesday to install one of a series of 20 additionalHometown Heroes banners. The program, launched early last yearby the Tamaqua Area Chamber of Commerce, allows anybody, even groups or organizations, to honor a military person or group. It can be a generic salute to the military and patriotism, as well. Theprogram has been embraced in the Tamaqua area and banners now adorn lamp posts all along routes 209 and 309 through town.
