Parryville council

Parryville Borough Council addressed the following on Monday:

• The Parryville Fire Company will be hosting their monthly breakfast on April 3.

They will be hosting a “Dine & Donate” event at Palmerton Pub on April 8. A portion of the proceeds will go to the fire company.

Their Fireman’s Carnival will be held April 23 from 3-10 p.m. and April 24 from noon to 7 p.m. at the Bowmanstown Rod & Gun Club.

• The income survey will be distributed soon to the residents of Parryville, and council President Jason Smith is asking everyone to complete it. He said the survey is “done by a third party so no one in the borough will see your income.” This survey allows Parryville to apply for grants to address the sewage issues.

• A representative from the American Red Cross asked if the borough would be interested in participating in the annual “Sound the Alarm” campaign which provides free smoke detector installations in any home. The Red Cross partners with local fire companies to install the alarms at no charge to residents who can be owners or renters.

A sign-up table will be available at the breakfast and carnival, and residents can also contact the borough hall for information.

Residents anywhere in the country can reach out to the Red Cross for free smoke detector placement.
