Visitation will resume at the Carbon County Correctional Facility next month.
Last week, the county prison board voted to resume visitations beginning on April 4. The county had discontinued visitations in 2020 during the COVID-19 pandemic.
But with cases decreasing across the nation, the board thought it was time to restart.
District Attorney Michael Greek, president of the prison board, said that visitations will resume pre-COVID procedures and not require masks or proof of vaccination.
But, he noted that the policy is subject to change if cases begin to rise again.
