Route 54 in Rush Township was closed for a period of time as officials worked to free a tractor-trailer tanker from a ditch. The operator of the rig told authorities he was traveling east and the GPS system instructed him to make a left turn onto narrow Church Road en route to the Air Products plant. The right wheels of the truck tractor dropped into a storm culvert at the intersection. Rush Township and Hometown fire police maintained traffic control at the scene. The rig was freed after a two-hour maneuvering process. COPYRIGHT LARRY NEFF/SPECIAL TO THE TIMES NEWS
