Man charged with sexual assault of teenage girl

A Walnutport man has been charged with sexually assaulting a teenage girl.

According to the affidavit of probable cause filed by Detective Matt Arner of the Lehighton Borough Police Department in the case against Jeremy George:

On Oct. 13 police received a ChildLine referral form regarding a 15-year-old girl who said she had sexual relations with George, 48, at a home in Lehighton..

The victim said the events occurred in the fall of 2020 when she was 14 years old.

On Oct. 27, George agreed to speak with Arner and denied all of the allegations, stating that he was never alone with her.

However, George did admit that the victim would give him massages and began to flirt with him.

George later said he had mutual sex with the victim, and that this occurred up to six times.

George faces charges on six counts each of statutory sexual assault; aggravated indecent assault; corruption of minors; and indecent assault.

He is currently incarcerated in the Carbon County Correctional Facility in lieu of $100,000 straight bail, and scheduled to have a preliminary hearing March 23 before District Judge Eric M. Schrantz of Jim Thorpe.
