Palmerton Borough Council took the following action on Thursday:

• Approved a change order for $4,000 to install a front pumper discharge gun on the Palmerton Fire Department’s new pumper.

• Adopted a policy for the fire department command vehicle from the former West End Fire Company. The policy is to set conditions under which the fire department command vehicle will be used by fire department members. The vehicle is a 2013 Dodge Ram Truck.

• Approved the first reading of an ordinance amending vehicles and traffic, junked vehicles, and snow and ice removal sections of borough code to change the time that residents must comply with street cleaning parking requirements. Previously residents had to keep vehicles off the street (for street cleaning) until 4 p.m. That has been changed to noon.

• Approved a fire police request for Lehigh Township’s Sportsman Night March 26 at the Lehigh Township Fire Station.

• Adopted the Police Code of Conduct.

• Adopted a resolution authorizing records disposal.
