Palmerton has applied for Local Share Assessment grants for fire department needs and a police vehicle.

The borough is applying for LSA grants for the fire department exhaust system in the amount of $68,960 and the parking lot at the fire station in the amount of $179,250.

An LSA grant application for a police car in the amount of $47,305 was also approved.

Councilman Kris Hoffner noted that applying for the LSA grants through Monroe County is a competitive process.
