Schuylkill County commissioners
Schuylkill County commissioners on Wednesday approved a number of contracts.
• Fiscal year 2021-22 contract with Sage Action Consulting, Baden, Beaver County, for drug and alcohol prevention plan consultation services at $9,500 from July 1, 2021, to June 30, 2022.
• Awarded the bid to Remedy Repack, Indiana County, to provide Narcan/naloxone for $75.25 per box of 4 mg Narcan nasal spray, two-dose pack.
• Approved a grant application to the Office of Child Development and Early Learning, and Pennsylvania Department of Human Services for the county’s Nurse Family Partnership program for fiscal year 2022-2023. The grant is to increase working with 75 to 100 families. The partnership provides services to women who are pregnant and people who have children, and who have a substance use disorder.
• Approve the fee for service contract with Benefits Data Trust, Philadelphia, for $46,396 from Sept. 1, 2021, to Aug. 1, 2022. Funds, provided by the state Department of Aging, are to be used to conduct outreach for the Medicare Part D Low Income Subsidy, for continued support of the referral line for LIS applications on behalf of PA MEDI (Medicare Education Decision Insight, formerly Apprise), to provide application assistance for a variety of programs such as Pace/PaceNet, the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program, LIHEAP, and the property tax/rent rebate, and to continue to provide project management.
• Approved the following contract agenda for fiscal year 2021 to 2022: an increase of $198,156 to the program funded contract with Daikon Child Family And Community Ministries of Middletown, Dauphin County, for senior community center services, senior center grants, and regional PA MEDI. The revised contract will be $1,252,274. The state Department of Aging has allocated the additional funding for PEMEDI and the senior center grant programs.
• Approved a fee-for-service contract with Burke and Burke of Shenandoah for legal services, with an increase in the contract by $23,000 for a revised cap of $44,250.
Commissioners also extended contracts until July 2022:
• A fee-for-service contract with WATWO, doing business as Family Home Medical Support Services of Mount Carmel, Northumberland County, for personal care services with a contract Of $113,584. The rate is $19.44 an hour, capped at the same amount as the last fiscal year.
• A fee-for-service contract with WAONE, doing business as Family Home Medical, Mount Carmel, for home health services. The contract includes pay for a registered nurse, $68.87 an hour; licensed practical nurse, $45.86 an hour; occupational therapy, $88.60 an hour; speech therapy, $90.39 an hour; and physical therapy, $84.07 an hour), with a contract cap of $12,246. The rates and contract cap will remain the same as the prior fiscal year.
• A fee-for-service contract with DNA Central Inc., doing business as Dedicated Nursing Associates of Allentown for personal care services. The rate is $19.44 per hour for a contract cap of $35,217.45 the same as the prior year.
Commissioners also agreed with Girardville for a demolition project at 101 N. Richard St., and at 239, 241 and 241A W. Main St.
