Brian Claude Fogel, 56, of the 300 block of Schuylkill Avenue, Tamaqua, has been charged with possession of a controlled substance, methamphetamine and marijuana, and possession of drug paraphernalia.
Tamaqua Police said on Feb. 12 at 8:33 a.m. they were dispatched to the Speedway service station on Center Street for a person parked in blue Corvette convertible in the handicapped spot with the engine idling and Fogel in the driver’s seat.
He was asleep when police arrived. When police woke him, he appeared disorientated. Fogel was asked to get out of the vehicle. A pat-down search was conducted and he had a capped container in his pants pocket that was the type of container commonly used to store and hold narcotics.
Through the course of the investigation police found containers with suspected meth. A search of the vehicle found more drug paraphernalia including a Marlboro cigarette pack containing a small wax bag with white crystal like substance. Marijuana, a digital scale, clear glass pipe and four hypodermic needles with orange caps and lids attached, were also found.
All the items were confiscated.
