Hickory Run latrine project advances

The Carbon County Planning Commission approved the final conditional plan for the Hickory Run State Park latrine improvements project.

The plan calls for demolishing latrine sites at Camp Shehaqua, Camp Daddy Allen and Loop C Organized Group Camping Campground and constructing new shower houses and flush comfort stations.

The facilities will be demolished at three of the sites, and new, modern shower houses and flush comfort stations will be constructed.

At the fourth site, located at the Organized Group Tent Camping, the existing portable latrine will be removed and modern shower house and flush comfort station will be constructed.

The planning commission also made the following recommendations during its monthly meeting last week:

• Robert Pittel received conditional plan approval for a proposed subdivision at 382 Evergreen Lane, Lausanne Township. Plans call for subdividing 12.885 acres into two lots. The current tract is in the Clean and Green program.

• Jason and Leila Pendal received plan approval for a proposed lot line revision at 121-123 Short St., Beaver Meadows. The plans call for combining three lots into one lot.

• Jeffrey S. Benner received conditional plan approval for a proposed lot line revision on Sparrow Drive, lots 238 and 239, Marty Axman in the Poconos, Penn Forest Township. The plans call for combining two lots into one lot.

• Joseph B. and Theresa A. Mihalyi received conditional plan approval for a proposed lot line revision on Spencer Lane, lots 87 and 88, Towamensing Trails, Penn Forest Township. The plans call for combining two lots into one lot.

• Ronald K. Woytowich and Jeffrey F. St. Clair received conditional plan approval for a proposed lot line revision at 34 Milton Way, Towamensing Trails, Penn Forest Township. The plans call for combining two lots into one lot.
