Snow, sleet, ice Thursday night through Friday

The National Weather Service has issued a winter storm watch in effect from Thursday evening through Friday afternoon.

Heavy mixed precipitation is possible. Total snow and sleet accumulations of 3 to 6 inches and ice accumulations of up to two tenths of an inch possible.

Plan on slippery road conditions. The hazardous conditions could impact the morning and evening commutes. Localized power outages and tree damage are possible due to the ice.

Today: Isolated showers before noon. Cloudy early, then gradual clearing, with a temperature falling to around 51 by 5 p.m. Northwest wind 10 to 15 mph, with gusts as high as 30 mph. Chance of precipitation is 20%.

Tonight: Increasing clouds, with a low around 23. Northwest wind 5 to 15 mph.

Thursday: Mostly cloudy, with a high near 31. North wind around 5 mph becoming calm in the afternoon.

Thursday Night: A chance of snow before 9 p.m., then a chance of snow and sleet between 9 p.m. and 10 p.m., then sleet after 10 p.m. Low around 27. East wind around 5 mph. Chance of precipitation is 100%. New snow and sleet accumulation of 3 to 5 inches possible.

Friday: Rain, snow, freezing rain, and sleet before 4 p.m., then a chance of rain between 4 p.m. and 5 p.m., then a chance of rain and snow after 5 p.m. High near 37. East wind 5 to 15 mph becoming west in the afternoon. Chance of precipitation is 100%. New ice accumulation of less than a 0.1 of an inch possible. New snow and sleet accumulation of 1 to 3 inches possible.
