Route 309 in Tamaqua was closed beginning at 7 p.m. yesterday while crews work to replace a 230-foot section of rail across the highwayin the southern part of Tamaqua, near the Hess gas station.
It will be closed until Monday morning around 5 a.m. Northbound traffic is being detoured 18.8 miles via Route 443 east to Route 902 north, and then to Route 209 west.Southbound traffic follows the same route, only in reverse.
