Lehighton has shelved the purchase of a web-based law enforcement policy and training program module for its police department for the time being.

Borough council recently tabled the Lexipol subscription materials for the police department after borough Manager Nicole Beckett said the materials were requested from out of this year’s budget.

“There were funds allocated toward Lexipol; however, it is not fully funded due to other line items prioritized in the police budget,” Beckett said.

Beckett noted that she and borough police Chief Brian Biechy last year submitted a PCCD grant for the purchase of Lexipol.

However, she said the grant was not funded.
