A woman was seriously injured Friday night In a violent crash in Franklin Township. The crash occurred around 8:30 p.m. as she was operating a pickup west bound on Forest Street.

She apparently lost control, entering the right berm and hitting several trees. She was heavily entrapped, with Franklin township firefighters taking almost two hours to extricate the victim from the wreckage.

She was treated at the scene by Lehighton paramedics before being flown by LifeFlight 6 to a Lehigh Valley area trauma center. Franklin township police are investigating the incident.
