State police at Lehighton are investigating an incident that occurred on Friday in Summit Hill.

At 11:03 p.m. troopers were dispatched to West White Street for a report of a domestic in progress.

A 37-year-old man who had injuries to his face told troopers that he was struck by his 33-year-old brother brother with a sledgehammer. The suspect, who police did not identify, fled the scene prior to the arrival of troopers. The victim was transported to an area hospital for further treatment.

Troopers said charges will be filed.
