Fireworks were being set off in Tamaqua on Monday.
Tamaqua police said one occurrence was reported around 6:30 p.m. Monday around the Dutch Hill area.
Tamaqua police chief Michael Hobbs said “a couple of pops” went off.
“There were numerous calls, but we couldn’t pin down where it was,” Hobbs said.
“Everybody hears the boom, but nobody actually reported anybody running or anything like that.”
Hobbs said another incident was reported around 9:30 p.m. Police said there were multiple callers from multiple locations who reported the incidents.
According to the Tamaqua borough’s fireworks ordinance, violators could face up to a $500 fine.
Hobbs said if anyone has any more information, they can call the police department at 570-668-5000.
