Weatherly adds psychology services

Weatherly Area School Board approved psychology services this month.

Elementary/middle school counselor Tiffany Bobeck will add the limited role of district psychologist to her work, at a contracted rate of $30 an hour.

Next Century Inc. will provide supplemental school psychology services for the district through the end of June, at a rate of $75 an hour.

Enhancity/Eastern Janitorial Services was approved to continue to supply cleaners to the district through the end of April.

Alicia Burger will be added to the substitute teachers list when she gets all her needed clearances and paperwork.

Paraprofessional Christine Paisley, who has worked for the district for 9½ years, resigned on Jan. 21. She was thanked for her service.

A COVID vaccine and booster clinic was held Jan. 12 in the middle school cafeteria. Nearly 100 people came for shots. The board approved another of these clinics for Feb. 2. These are led by district Nurse Rebekah McFadden, with staff and supplies from the Lehigh Valley Health Network.

As part of School Board Members recognition month, Superintendent Daniel Malloy awarded certificates to members of the board thanking them for their “time and dedication to strengthening public education in our community.”
