Walnutport Borough Council took the following action on Thursday:
• Agreed to advertise an ordinance related to landlord - disruptive tenants.
• Agreed to reimburse police officer Nicholas Hartman $103 for education.
• Appointed Wayne Weidner to fill a vacancy on the borough’s planning commission.
• Approved street closures for the Walnutport Canal Association on Oct. 17 as follows: Lehigh Street and South Canal Street closed to all traffic, North Canal Street to be made one-way going north, and North Railroad Street to be made one-way going south; barricade South Canal Street and Washington Street, Main Street and South Canal Street, Lehigh Street and Main Street starting at 7 a.m.; and requesting Walnutport fire police to help with safety patrol at Main Street.
• Agreed to allow the Northern Lehigh Events Committee’s Halloween parade to come through the borough, and to close street Oct. 30, with a rain date of Oct. 31.
