Jean Zellers, the lady who helped visitors to the Dimmick Memorial Library in Jim Thorpe for the past 28 years, retired as head librarian at the end of 2005.

The Jim Thorpe resident was succeeded to the library’s top post by Susan Sterling, also of Jim Thorpe, who has been working at the library since 1996.

The transition was easy, the women said, because they have been working closely together for the past eight years.

Sterling, the former Susan Gilkeson, and wife of Jack Sterling, said her vision is to continue the good work of the library and to serve the community in all of its needs.
