A Carbon County man admitted to assaulting another person during a road-rage incident.

Christopher L. Horn, 40, of Weissport, pleaded guilty on Tuesday before Carbon President Judge Roger N. Nanovic II to one count of simple assault for an incident on Sept. 15, 2013.Franklin Township police responded to the area of Green and Forest streets for a reported assault of a woman.On scene officers learned that the victim was assaulted by a man following a road-rage incident.Police said the victim had pulled over and was approached by the man who reached into her vehicle and took her cellphone and then threw it to the ground.When the woman left her vehicle to retrieve her phone the man threw her to the ground. He then got into his car and left.A witness managed to obtain the registration of the man and it was traced back to Horn.When confronted by police, he admitted to assaulting the woman.Horn told Nanovic that after the incident occurred he learned he was bipolar and that may have caused his actions that day.Nanovic sentenced him to time served (11 days) to 18 months and ordered he make total restitution of $1,459.56, get a drug and alcohol evaluation and follow any recommendation for treatment, pay court costs of about $1,000, pay a $50 per month supervision fee while on parole and have no contact with the victim.
