Tamaqua hunger campaign distributes checks

TAFFN’s October monthlong hunger campaign collected 115 boxes of food and raised over $12,000 for the local food pantries. The pantry at American Primitive Methodist, 57 Hunter St., distributes food on the second Wednesday of the month from 2-5 p.m. and the third Wednesday of the month from 10 a.m. to noon and 4-5:30 p.m. The Friends in Need pantry at Trinity, 22 Lafayette St., distributes food to families in the Tamaqua Area School District by appointment. Call 570-391-6719 for an appointment. TAFFN is an organization of lay leaders from Tamaqua area congregations operating under the umbrella of the Tamaqua Area Community Partnership.
