Nesquehoning Borough Council kicked off 2022 with welcoming reelected officials to another term, as well as a new mayor.
Mayor Tom Kattner, who was elected to his first term in November, swore in council members David Hawk, Bruce Nalesnik, Rosemary Porembo and Mary Fox before conducting the election of officers. This was Nalesnik’s first elected term, having served on council as an appointed member since July after then Councilman George Sabol resigned.
Hawk accepted another term as council president, while Fox will again serve as vice president.
Solicitor Robert Yurchak was retained as counsel for the borough.
