Lehighton picked up a win in wrestling action against Palmerton on Monday.

Elsewhere, the Marian and Jim Thorpe boys’ basketball teams also recorded victories.

Palmerton-Lehighton

Lehighton posted a 48-24 nonleague win against Palmerton.

Jake Hall (106), Aidan Gruber (120), Jacob Ferguson (145) and Deven Armbruster (189) all had pins for the Indians (3-0).

Josh Merkel (126), Dillon Lombardi (138) and Daniel Luckykanish (160) all had pins for the Bombers (1-2), while Derek King (132) and Dennis Lombardi (152) both won by decision.

Mahanoy Area-Marian

A pair of free throws from Brendan Lonegran lifted Marian to a 40-39 Schuylkill League win over Mahanoy Area.

Lonegran, who scored nine points, put the Colts (5-2, 1-1) ahead with 17.4 to play in the fourth quarter. Frank Valente scored a team-high 16 points for Marian, which trailed 33-29 entering the final frame.

Chris Cuff scored 16 points for the Bears (1-6, 0-2), while Jace Vedsena added 13.

Marian won the JV game, 41-39.

Jim Thorpe turned back Pine Grove for a 44-40 Schuylkill League win.

Derryl Fisher scored 17 points for the Olympians (5-3, 2-1), while Colby McHugh added 10 points.

Brandon Unger had 10 points for the Cardinals (5-4, 2-1).

So. Lehigh-Northern Lehigh

Southern Lehigh rolled to a 69-40 Colonial League win over Northern Lehigh.

The Spartans (5-3, 5-0) had four players score in double figures, led by Noah Denton’s 18 points. Max Pristas added 16 points, and Jonah Shaw and Dominik Lisicky both scored 12 apiece.

Izaiah Ramos had 10 points for the Bulldogs (2-6, 1-3).

Southern Lehigh also won the JV game, 67-17.

Stephen Hood had 11 points for the Panthers (3-4, 0-3).
