Carbon County Commissioners

The Carbon County Commissioners acted on or discussed the following items during their weekly meeting on Thursday:

• Approved a proposal with the Housing and Redevelopment Insurance Exchange for workers’ compensation insurance for 2022 in the amount of $351,806. This represents an increase of $6,756 from this year.

• Approved a change order to a contract with Anchor Fire Protection Co. Inc. of Perkiomenville, due to the cost coming in under budget for the 44/76 Susquehanna St. building project. The change order decreases the contract by $5,000 to $58,600.

• Approved 10 change orders to the contract with JBM Mechanical Inc. of Nazareth for work at the 44/76 Susquehanna St. building at a cost of $24,751.15. The new contract total is $386,069.17.

• Change of status: Douglas Budziak of Nesquehoning, from part-time corrections officer/Teamsters to corrections officer, effective Dec. 20.

• Recorder of Deeds change of status: Lisa M. Sherry of Jim Thorpe, from clerical specialist, Clerk of Courts to coordinator of records/indexer trainee, recorder of deeds, effective Dec. 20.

• Sheriff’s office resignation: Alyssa H. Smith of Lehighton, deputy sheriff, effective Dec. 30; and change of status: Dakota J. Baker of Lehighton, from specialty deputy sheriff trainee to deputy sheriff, effective Jan. 3.
